There are occasional application phases in the wiki. These are also published in the wiki. When selecting applicants, one of the criteria is how you contribute to the wiki. Some mods (including myself) had thousands of edits before being promoted to content mod.
However, you can edit most of the wiki pages without additional rights. There are a few pages that are protected, e.g. those that have often been vandalized. This also includes pages with complex table structures, where one forgotten character can break the whole page.
As a mod you have a few additional rights and obligations in the wiki, but no advantages in the game.
....and since this question has also been asked several times:
- NO, we have no contact with Preston. ...and we can't tell him to change anything in the game.
Rights[]
- Bureaucrats have the same rights as an administrator, along with the ability to promote users to content moderator, administrator, and bureaucrat, as well as demoting all roles below bureaucrat.
- Administrators have the abilities of content and discussions moderators, while also having additional rights of being able to block or ban users and edit wiki code.
- Content Moderators are users who can delete and restore articles and edit locked pages.
- Discussions Moderators are users who have the ability to delete and or lock discussions, comments, and message wall posts.
